Character Analysis

Who was Michael Jackson really? Michael Jackson has been described as shy, yet very outgoing, trusting, and child-like. Michael Jackson was someone who was very kept off and didn’t talk about his personal life Michael grew up in a very toxic home; he was abused by his father but was also in the Jackson Five which held him together. He was a child prodigy which allegedly was why his father only abused him (Hilton 1). Michael Jackson eventually went solo and released “thirteen number one songs,” which made him automatically number one on the male artists lists (Jackson 1). The outgoing side of Michael was him wearing custom made outfits that were definitely a statement (Raymundo 1).

Michael never came out of his shell because he only ever went to public school until fifth grade at Gardner Elementary School, and then was homeschooled due to him becoming an artist and joining the Jackson Five (Martin 1). Michael was never taught how to interact with others due to the homeschooling he did. He was only good at performing in front of thousands of people because that what he loved (Martin 2). Michael also believed while he was preforming that his clothes should be a part of the entertainment, because “if it isn’t entertainment on a hanger then it needs to go back,” (Raymundo 1). Michael was extremely outgoing when it came to being on stage, he didn’t care if he made a fool of himself or not; he was just always happy to be there.

Quincy Jones believed that Michael Jackson was “weird and very childish”, and he needed to grow up (Lester 1). Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson were friends ever since they were twelve. Well not really friends… Quincy thought that Michael was weird because he didn’t like being outside, didn’t like playing sports, or the normal boyish things at the age of twelve. Jones used to believe that Michael was more like a child than a twelve-year-old. Quincy eventually grew out of saying that Michael was weird and acted like a seven-year-old “little boy”, and they became super close friends up until Michael died (Lester 1).

Right before Michael Jackson died it was discovered that he was addicted to drugs. Jackson kept to himself for most of his life and no one knew much about who he was alone (Duke 1). Michael was very close with his care provider, and it made it hard for his doctor to say no to the prescriptions he was asking for (Duke 1). Michael died June 25, 2009, at the age of fifty-years-old (Chaney 1). Every autopsy write that Michael Jackson was bald, but if you saw Michael, you would see that he was in fact not bald. The whole death with Michael was very strange, a lot of people think that because Michael was very secretive that he may have actually faked his own death (Chaney 1).
